Captain Tom Moore WW2 veteran
« on: April 17, 2020, 07:20:55 AM »
Captain Tom Moore, a retired world war 2 veteran, has raised millions for NHS charities, by walking 100 laps of his garden at home, in Marston Mortaine, Bedfordshire, to coincide with his 100th birthday.i

If he doesn't win the BBC sports Personality of the year, I'll be amazed.

It is well in excess of £20 million now.

I say forget the knighthood, he is the most active sportsman in the world at the moment.

Michael Ball sang live on TV with him, to mark his hitting the target of 100 laps, "You'll never walk alone."

Captain Tom joined in.

Don't be surprised if this duet, hits No 1 in the charts, very shortly.

For the record,

On his 100th birthday, Ho, along with Michael Ball, became No 1. The oldest person to achieve that.
He was made an honorary Colonel by H.M. The Queen.
He had a fly past of a Spitfire and a Hurricane from RAF conning say.
He finally raised more than £32 million for NHS.
The BBC featured him meeting Michael Ball in a prime time TV show to tell the story.

Well done Captian (Colonel) Tom.

As it has officially been declared by HM The Queen, Captain Tom Moore has been awarded a knighthood, so from now on, he will be known as Captain Sir Tom Moore.
Well done Sir..

Sir Captain Tom died yesterday and I think this poem sums up the recent months of his life superbly.

The Prime Minister has called for the nation to clap him at 6.00 p.m. this evening, and this is referred to in this poem.
